Our Process

1. Inspection
We begin by inspecting the cold water storage tank, including the tank condition, lid, insulation, inlet, outlet, overflow and surrounding area. We identify any visible contamination, sediment or signs of damage.

2. Isolation & Drain Down
The water supply is safely isolated and the tank is drained in accordance with the system requirements. Care is taken to protect the surrounding loft area from water damage.

3. Physical Cleaning
We remove accumulated sediment, sludge, debris and other visible contaminants from the tank. Internal surfaces are thoroughly cleaned using appropriate equipment and methods suitable for a potable water storage tank.

4. Disinfection
Following physical cleaning, the tank is disinfected using an appropriate disinfectant suitable for potable water systems. The concentration and contact time are controlled in accordance with the relevant product and water-system requirements.

5. Thorough Flushing
Once disinfection is complete, the tank and relevant pipework are thoroughly flushed with fresh water to remove disinfectant and loosened contaminants.

6. Final Inspection & Checks
The tank is inspected again to ensure it has been properly cleaned and that the lid, fittings and associated components are correctly reinstated. Where appropriate, water quality and chlorine levels are checked before the system is returned to normal operation.

7. Independent Water Testing – Optional
For customers who require additional reassurance or documented water-quality results, we can arrange for an independent water sample to be taken following completion of the cleaning process. The sample can be submitted to an appropriate laboratory for microbiological analysis, with the laboratory report provided to the customer.

Professional Documentation

Following completion, customers can receive a Cold Water Storage Tank Cleaning & Disinfection Certificate detailing the work carried out, together with any independent laboratory water-test report where testing has been requested.
